Just turn it off but easy to forget.
We rarely use city water except to fill the tank. Instead use water from the tank with the pump. It's much easier to turn off the pump so that there won't be a surprise leak when we return. Plus should a leak develop we will hear the pump running.
And we have a good idea of water usage from the idiot lights. Our fresh water tank lights which are reasonably consistent tells us all we need to know about water in all 3 tanks. Otherwise the main purpose for tank monitor lights is for the salesman to sell the rig.
