joeshmoe,
You brought something I have been wondering about for a while now. Remember when you use to see on the side of the front doors where the emblem and what police department they are it also use to state "To Serve and Protect". I commented to my wife here a while back that you don't see that on a lot of police cars anymore. So she started to watch as we travel around and then she also said that is strange as she was seeing the same as me.
I guess I would have t agree with you that they are not there to serve and protect anymore.
Just MO
Just because the emblem is not displayed does not mean that the police do not serve and protect anymore. Could be several reasons the emblem is not displayed. Who do you call when you are in trouble or need assistance? As a retired peace officer I take issue with your statement that they are not there to serve and protect. We lost 3 Royal Canadian Mounted Police members last month here in Atlantic Canada serving to protect the community from a deranged shooter. When this scumbag started shooting , who do you think the people called? These police officers came a running to protect the civilians and they paid big tim with their lives.
