I have yet to have any issues with AC freezing up. Before we put reflectix in the bunk end windows, if we camped somewhere with no shade it would take a while for the AC to bring the temp down if we didn't turn it on soon enough. Open field camping is the hardest.
But it would freeze you out of the camper, and we have 3 tent beds and a slide, with non-ducted AC.
We don't have the gizmo's, just the insulation for the windows for peak summer and cold weather camping.
We aren't the type to keep our house and camper like a fridge in the summer though. I know some people do, so I may have a different threshold for "too hot".
