I have yet to have any issues with AC freezing up. Before we put reflectix in the bunk end windows, if we camped somewhere with no shade it would take a while for the AC to bring the temp down if we didn't turn it on soon enough. Open field camping is the hardest.
But it would freeze you out of the camper, and we have 3 tent beds and a slide, with non-ducted AC.
We don't have the gizmo's, just the insulation for the windows for peak summer and cold weather camping.
We aren't the type to keep our house and camper like a fridge in the summer though. I know some people do, so I may have a different threshold for "too hot".
Good luck with the new camper! I'm sure you will quickly figure out what works best for you after you use it a few times.
Thanks, we're excited!
This reflectix, is that just a roll you order and cut to fit the windows? Do you pretty much leave it between the outer layer and the zipped layer and fold up the ends with it in there? That would be my thought because I don't plan to open those bed windows, and would rather the AC be less taxed.
Also, do you guys recommend a full cover? Being it has these bunk flip down beds, and will probably be kept a few miles away from my house (thinking of working something out with my rental tenants to park it beside the house there, they are GREAT people), I was thinking I might cover it to ensure those end bed seals don't get sun beaten worse, and dry and start leaking without me knowing. Are they a pain to swoop up over the camper and people find they are too much hassle to use?
