Do you know how old the trailer battery is? If that battery is dead you won't get lights, brake lights, anything even if you're hooked up to the truck. It has to have enough voltage on its own to operate anything on the 12v system even if it's connected.
If it's an old battery it will need to be replaced regardless, so having that checked and/or replaces isn't a bad first step regardless. It seems like its possible they had it plugged in and there was enough charge to show you the lights, but then that was it.
You can check the fuses, those are for the 12v system.
Of course plug into shore power and see if everything works that way. If it does, then you have a 12v issue and I'd suspect the battery first.
Thanks for the tip.
When I texted the seller about the issue, (Thinking I had forgotten to flip some switch) she seemed to be saying the car power and the tongue battery were two separate systems.
I had initially thought that if we plugged in the car, even if the tongue battery was dead, that things would power up from having the car plugged in.
However, as said above, she seemed to say they were two sep systems.
Also, I know my dad doesn't use a tongue battery. He connected some wire from his tongue battery location, over to his 7 pin on the camper, so he has power only when plugged to the car. This works perfectly for him on his suburban, but for some reason it has never worked on his 2014 F150 Ecoboost truck. He even went back to the dealer for them to install some fuse saying that would fix it, and no dice. That's another story though.
I admit I am not following why you think we wouldn;t have brake lights as that does come directly from the TV. We have brake lights, running lights, turn signals NO PROBLEM. but NOTHING inside the camper will power on at all.
