My last trailer had Maxxis tires on it. I also advocated Maxxis tires, mostly due to the experience of this forum. However, in the back of my mind I always had a thought that these tires may have the appearance of superior performance because of the smaller sample size of this particular brand. Most trailers I see DO NOT have Maxxis tires.
So, does Maxxis actually perform better than "China Bombs?" I am not sure that the standard deviation for Maxxis failures vs Other Brand failures is significant, given a comparable sampling of Maxxis vs other brands I am willing to bet the data shows nearly 0 to .05 deviation in performance. Too bad I don't have the actual data so I can calculate it.
My dad just replaced the tires on his trailer...He put LT truck tires on his fiver. First set of LT's have been on there since 07. Never had any issue
My next trailer, TT or Fiver, will have LT tires on it. If LT's won't fit on the trailer, then I will buy a different trailer.
Thanks!
