However, the OP indicates that he operated his tires within the restrictions of their design and they failed at 2 year of age. The problem here is that most all of the tire pundits refuse to acknowledge that there are cases when an individual gets a bad set of tires. If that is the limit of their design then having to replace tires every 2 years would be categorized as an "unnecessary expense". There are tires out there that may cost a little more but will hold up for well past 5 years.
Simply said, when operated within their design parameters, a set of tires should last a minimum of 5 years without having issues. Of course, extensive travel resulting in a worn out tread condition is an understandable situation. If your ST tires have a bad habit of failing prematurely, then it's time to look elsewhere.
