Mayo Clinic - would you could take a Truck Camper

Well looks like the Mayo is out....for now! Sounds like they cannot offer anything beyond available local options. It's back to the waiting game and hopefully not a camping waiting for answers type thing!!!

you could check with the Rochester , VFW, American Legion /DAV / Elks /Moose / KOC / ect. if your a member !

We needed a place to Park at the trauma center in Tulep, Miss... they had a parking garage.

There was a medical supply business accross the street I asked and recieved permission to park in a corner of their parking lot. I may have been closer to the area of the hospital than I would have been if I could have fir into the garage.

Being polite and approaching with a smile does a long way.

Never approach the obvious grouch if you can avoid it... they are just looking for someone to take their misery out on.

I know that a number of hospitals have gone to parking garages and this really puts a damper on parking let alone staying there.

If that does not work for you see if the hospital has accommodation for patient families. Some have houses or apartments and they may have room there for you to park.

... some of the places that you have toured with it tells me that you could probably parkedon the side of the hospital.

Last year we did not get much time in the camper. But I did get to spend 9 days last spring in it in the parking lot of the Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque while my wife had a room on the third floor. I spent my nights in a friends driveway and was at the Hospital from 7:30am to 8:30 pm.

Did some looking and it doesn't look good. The Mayo is downtown and uses a parking garage. When you do call, make sure you ask about parking for oversized vehicles along with maximum height. You may just luck up and be able to stay in the garage. While parking is $12/day, you can get a 5 day pass for $25 if needed.

Thats in the City. If accepted will definitely be asking the accommodation questions and maybe even calling security before hitting the road.

I would if it was OK with them. I have stayed in 2 different hospital parking lots over the years in a TC and a Class C. If not, find a local Wal-Mart (maybe).

Probably should not take outdoor chairs, carpet, fire pit, and too much other camping paranaphelia.
