- Johno02ExplorerYes, and we like it. MF mattress + topper.
- covered_wagonExplorerYes as a topper but not just by itself. It's nice until you have a big heavy head like mine, you wake up with head in a sink hole.
My big problem is the Northern Lite camper can't handle the weight with the memory foam mattress and memory foam topper. It's getting two big stress bulges in the fiberglass right where the cabover connects. But the oem mattress from the factory was something I had to get rid of.... it was teeth chattering in cold weather and was made too small for the mattress well size built in the camper. - RoyBExplorer IICoveredwagon - If you let it get down to freezing inside the trailer then that hole you have made laying on the memory foam remain there for awhile. The memory gets hard as a rock when the temps get down to freezing inside the trailer. Never knew they would do that until I Had memory foam pillows laying in my truck back seat over a freezing night. Those whole pillows were hard as a rock until they warmed back haha...
Pretty funny when you throw the pillow on the floor and it goes clank...
We have our regular two-inch thin mattress with a three-inch foam topper in our off-road popup... Sleeps great for us...
Roy Ken - PUCampinExplorerIn my old pop up I replaced the dead mattress with 3 inches of custom cut high density foam topped with 2 inches of memory foam topper. Some of my most comfortable nights ever were on that combination. The key is having a firm base with some give and a moderately thick softer top layer with more give.
- towproExplorerwe hated the mattress in our Wolf Creek, plus teh metal frame was bent in the middle from being folded in 1/2 to get thorough the small opening to bedroom in 840.
adding a memory foam topper would raise the mattress and make it hard to open the PS front storage door.
Amazon, ordered a new memory foam matters. fits perfect. we love it. in fact when our Daughter moved out to her first apartment we bought here the same one. she loves it as well. - jarata1ExplorerHow come you just don't want to put it on top of mattress
- Nautique200ExplorerWe have one and I don't like it. Its slides down at the foot of the bed from crawling in and out of bed. Its too tall for our cabinets.
- JimK-NYExplorer IIForget trying to fix a bad mattress with a topper. There are some great 6-8" thick foam mattresses. The one I have is a Serta from Overstock and is more comfortable than my big expensive mattress in the house. It cost me about $400 delivered.
- jjjandrbakerExplorerIn my tiny trailer, I leave the dinette configured as a bed all the time. I have the seat cushions, 2 4" inch memory foam top mattresses that friends gave me, when they upgraded their mattresses, and a 4 inch feather top. Sleeping in the Colby T is the best sleep I get ever!
- covered_wagonExplorerRoyB, I do sleep better on my memory mattress and topper out in the camper. Probably from the great memories from past camping. I can call my NL camper a memory foam camper since it's made of foam board too.
But that camper has problems... structural and shower won't drain without having the nose down. It's a p.o.c. but love it anyhow.
