Michelin Tires

4x4 you bring up a good point that maybe you or someone else can answer.

What is the best Michelin highway tread tire out there? I have a 4x2 so I just want ONLY a highway high mileage tread.

Any ideas anybody? I got 65 to 70 out of my Bridgstones. Not too bad but I was told they were 100,000 mile tires.

All or most all OEMs cycle through issues some time or another...and...why
am not blindly loyal to any badge...

Loved Michelins till the early 90's...around the time they purchased BFG and
wonder if a coincidence or not...

They also 'invented' a bunch of new IP and one key that I think contributed to
the sidewall cracks...silicone embedded into the compound to reduce roll resistance

I trust this guy. We raced together and he is a straight up guy and not a salesman.

Don't go for the LTX A/T2's.... because they come as original equipment on Ford F350's I am watching my second set wear at an unbelievable rate .... same as the first set. We ran Bridgestone Duravis (can't remember the model number) on our Duramax and got about 70,000 miles out of a set.....almost 3x what we can get out of A/T2's. I would say the Duravis have similar ride, handling and traction characteristics.

Put me in the camp of "I would not put Michelin tires on my lawn mower". Had a set years ago that wore out way to fast and they did not stand behind. Fast forward to 3 years ago I had a set put on my F 250 and I had sway with my Laredo 5th wheel the first time I pulled it. Rear tires were at 80 psi and felt like they had 30. Took them back and had pulled off for Goodyears. Running Nitto now on my dually and very pleased so far.

HMMMMMMM I thought Michelin was a French owned Company?

I have driven EASILY over 1 million miles. It's Michelin or BFG (same company) for my vehicles and GY for my RV's.

I have always wondered the same. 120K out of Michelins is nothing to complain about. actually my VW PU rear tires were never rotated and they made 150K with at least 3/16" tread left.
