mirrors

Hi, everyone. I have been researching and researching tow mirrors. I have a 2011 Toyota Rav 4. I'm hesitant to buy anything because every product I read about has some really good reviews and some really bad reviews. Dose anyone out there own a Rav 4 if so what mirrors do you have and do you like them.

Thanks for any info you can give.
  • I have a Tacoma and found these the best so far as they have the least amount of vibration.

Always looking for something better I came across these below and used them once due to the excessive vibration.

YMMV, and you'll have to check to make sure whatever you buy fits your RAV.
  • Most after market removable towing mirrors vibrate more than factory installed mirrors. A lot of people complain because they expect them to be as good/better that the ones attached to their doors. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Find the ones were people say they fit tight to the RAV's mirrors, with no fear of them coming loose or flying off.

I ordered a set of CIPA mirrors designed to go over my trucks mirror--looked like a custom fit factory accessory---they stunk. Went to Walmart, bought a pair of one size fits all adjustable CIPA mirrors with rubber straps and a buckle that held them to my truck mirror. The mirror itself could be adjust 360 and extended farther than the "custom" mirrors. Easy on, easy off, did not scratch my trucks plastic, no fear of them coming loose. LOVED EM.
  • Go to etrailer.com and search for mirrors. you can google towing mirrors too and get lots of results. The universal ones with the straps work good and are easy to put on and take off.

I don't have a RAV4, but I do have the ones in the second link (also easy to find by searching in Amazon for B0095TC6I6). I saved a little by watching for an open-box return.

I love the easy on/off nature of them. The view is good, but the vibration is real (for me more of an issue at night than during the day). I also like the storage bag that comes with them.
  • Thank you for the info. I guess I will try a pair the stay on then. I would hate to have to try and run down one that fell off.
