Thats funny I've always heard of them referred to as the BIG 3 not the BIG 3 + GMC. But whatever way it makes your math look better!
Take it up with GM. I believe when Ford was doing the Lincoln truck it was not counted with F-series sales.
Have nothing against GM - they make a fine truck. It is how they and the industry choose to count sales. On the flip side if combining them makes you feel better have at it as well. :) - mooky_stinksExplorer

2:1 huh? I guess you're not counting GMC as being made by GM?
Nope, GM doesn't count it, the auto rags don't count it, it's separate. And yes my back of the head math was off - needed the calculator for this one...
F-series 559,506
Chevy 350,775
Ram 262,787
Chevy: 350,775/559,506 = .626 or 62.6% of Ford's sales
Ram: 262,787/559,506 = .469 or 46.9% of Ford's sales
And just for S&G:
Chevy + GMC (135,670) = 486,445
486,445/559,506 = .869 or 86.9% of Ford's sales - itguy08Explorer

That will be sure to change next month. Nobody will be buying the 2014 Fords. Everybody will be waiting for the 2015 Model year Ford.
Really? Who is going to delay a truck purchase a year to wait for the next one? Especially since I'd bet F-350 sales are a small piece of the whole pie.
When you outsell your closest competitor almost 2:1 and the distant 3rd by an even larger margin (close to 3:1) it's doubtful you will loose many sales on those waiting. And if they wait you'll have great sales of your new model.
I am surprised GM is down... Ram is loosing its lustre.

Math isn't his best subject I guess, making kool-aid he's real good at.
Ford 559,506 YTD. Ram 262,787 x 2= 525,574. Yeah that's almost 3:1 :B - mooky_stinksExplorer

They shot themselves in the foot with that Heavyweight test. Sure to kill their 2014 SD sales. And won't hurt RAM or GM sales either. No sales stolen from competitors. Because Ford didn't test against the 2014 Model year Ram's or GM twins.

GM truck sales dropping even after the redesign of their pickups?
That's going to make someone "nuts"...
GM was not offering many incentives on new trucks, and are almost out of 2013s. They took a strategic approach. Now truck shoppers will be forced into the 2014s.
This is one reason. Another reason is that GM is still only building the 2014 in a crew cab. The regular cab which is what the commercial buyers will want is just starting to be built.
You sure about that? I saw two '14 Sierra reg cabs at my local dealer this past Sunday while driving through their lot
They are out there, just not in numbers, and not in significant numbers to effect September sales.
