My camper is in the river now

UPDATE: We are almost done with the insurance company, it almost seems like it's their first time dealing with this. After 2 weeks, they are asking for the purchase agreement and build sheet of the flooded camper. I have the purchase agreement, but I can't find the build sheet. I'm going to call the dealer and see if he has a copy. The insurance company has been so hard to get a hold of, I had a simple question about a form and it took two days to get a response. They say to e-mail them, but the one time I did, it went unanswered. I'm hoping to get my new camper in about 2 weeks. The wife and I have labor day weekend off, just to go camping. So, if we don't have it by then, we will be tenting it.

For $500 I would have turned it into a utility trailer or else a tiny house of sorts. Maybe gut it out and rebuild it. A guy I know wanted to buy it for $1,000 to rebuild it, that was another option.

My in-law's camper, that was on the same lot and flooded just as bad, got bought by an auction company that sells them to people who rebuild them. I wouldn't want to buy a flooded camper, but, it might be a cheap option. I just hope it gets titled as a flooded/salvaged camper.

It was sold with full disclosure of what happened and the suggested repairs. When you invest 300K+ into a boat, your mindset is a little different when it's damaged. The insurance is also different than vehicle insurance.

The insurance company wanted over $2,000 for the trailer, I tried to bargain a little with them, but they wouldn't budge.

Glad it all worked out.

One of the other trailers had two leather recliners and a leather couch, all of them were super fuzzy after a couple weeks.

Sorry for your Bad luck, luckily no one was there when the dam burst so no one was injured. Hopefully the Ins. Co. will see things your way without too much of a problem on your part while dealing with them.
We just never know what Mother Nature can /will throw at us. Good Luck
