After looking at the Dexstar wheel site and the chart it appears that the chart does not limit the psi .
The chart lists the weight rating of the wheel and the necessary pressure to get that weight rating .
For example the most common wheel is probably the 15 x 5JJ white spoke steel wheel. The chart says the Capacity & PSI is 1820 @ 80 PSI.
It does not say the maximum psi is 80 . The chart is a weight rating chart. It is not a PSI chart .
It seems that the weakest link is the tires , frequently .
To think that a steel wheel is weaker than the tire confuses me ? Does this make sense ?
Are there any reports of RV wheels failing due to over- inflation ?
The tire manufacturers are very clear that an E rated tire only has the weight capacity stated on the sidewall if that tire is inflated to 80 psi .
So the easiest solution would be to upgrade to the highest weight rated tire and inflate it to the psi necessary as stated on the tire sidewall .
Does this make sense ?
