I know that the financing thing wasn't aimed at me, but we did finance but it's payed off now. If we had waited till now, the kids would have been already out of the house. So what's the price on the last 5 years of camping memories?
I'll tell you... Priceless
EXACTLY!!! I never financed a "toy" before. Paid cash for 3 motorcycles and my first RV. They were all "pre kids" and I had the money to buy them.
Now we have outgrown our small camper and I have to decide to forego camping for the foreseeable future to save for a camper, or finance and buy a camper now and let my family enjoy camping. I never thought I would finance a "toy", but I will be financing my next camper.
Now, delamination is unfortunate and expensive... but if you can fix the leak you could get another couple years out of it. I believe that Jayco fiberglass walls have aluminum studs, so you don't need to worry about wood studs rotting. If you have an enclosed underbelly, you might want to lower the fabric and test the floor under the delam spots with a moisture meter. If there is excess moisture present, try to dry the wood out.
It might not look like new, but it will still let you enjoy the camper for years to come.
