My former class C had a serious issue on the rear passenger's side corner. By the time I had it most of the wood was gone. I injected it with great stuff foam and covered it over with Eternabond. It was leak free in that area for the next 7 years.
In your shoes I'd fix it properly--then inject with great stuff.
