OK, I see what this is about.
Once I see the guy showing "his wire" close to the camera and "competition wire" farther from the camera, so it makes impression of huge difference, I know we are talking about lot of BS.
Coming to doing the wiring, the Ford 10ga wire is more than capable carrying 30 amp the relay/fuse in F350 supply.
So are you planning to rewire the truck to make new, higher amp circuit for your camper?
Otherwise you are wasting your time for lot of BS
Charging with more than 30 amp can damage your camper batteries BTW
I did rewire my truck to accommodate the higher draw and the custom harness.
Using the stock plug with a converter results in the fridge running off battery and draining it while driving. - Reddog1Explorer IIKayteg1, there are a lot of people that would disagree with your BS statements. To speak in absolutes can make you look very unknowing. On this subject, my experience is different than yours.

Why would Lance use non-standard plugs anyway?

- AISURFFISHExplorerLance has a proprietary 6-pin plug male and female the part that goes in the bed of the truck has to be hardwired into the truck wiring harness I just need to know which wires on the Ford trucks wiring harness do what without having to get in and pick in each one with a test light
- Kayteg1Explorer III don't understand the issue?
You had in bed aka 5th wheel plug on old truck and you want to install it on new F350?
Why not just plug camper into factory plug on the bumper?
I could never get why campers have the cord coming on front and the cord extension is giving me occasional headaches, but it is simple enough to not to change it.

I don't have the truck side information but it is very important to use 8 gauge wire for the power leads.
Yeah need to know truck side...
There are several wires in the loom going along the inner frame rail..
That's where I tie in. - Grit_dogTrailblazer^ this. Truck side, all modern 7 pin connectors are the same, so just look for one of those wiring diagrams, or break out the test light and do it the old fashioned way.
On a similar note, if you are buying a pre wired 7 pin plug to adapt to the camper plug so you don't have to modify the truck, be aware that some of these parts store plugs are NOT wired correctly. Had a guy grind off the 7 pin on a new trailer at work and one of my supts bought a pre wired plug to splice back on and only 1 or 2 of the standard wire colors matched properly. Had to test light it to get it wired up right.
