I had Fords for 20 years including both a 7.3L and 6.0L diesel. I got tired of all the nagging engine issues and I upgraded 1 1/2 years ago to the truck in my signature. Our fifth wheel weighs about 16k lbs loaded and the truck handles it effortlessly. I have absolutely no regrets with my decision at all. It has tons of quiet low end power, the exhaust brake is second to none, and the Megacab has room to spare for our family. The Cummins is the only medium duty diesel available in a pick up which played a factor in my decision because I plan on keeping this truck a long time.
I would highly recommend you test drive a Cummins powered Ram 3500 prior to making your decision.
Agree here. I expected to buy a Ford, ended up with a Ram in an ultimately easy decision. I had two really big dislikes on the GM - IFS (personal preference) and that DEF tank location (just stupid - I camp/hunt/etc off-road quite a bit).
