New Eagle Cap 1200

I can't say I like any of the large floor plans, but I'm sure they are heavy. On the other hand, I can't say I like many Class Bs either. I think the problem is you can only do so much with a small area.

Also now that Eagle Cap is using the Schwintek slideout for their campers. The old saying about if you need to use the bathroom and the slides are in the way just put them out a little. You can't do this with a Schwintek slide. Once you start putting it out you are supposed to extend it al the way and hold the button for a few seconds after it stops. I know this as this is the same slides we have in our MH. The only difference is I can use ours with the side in or out.

If you stop the slide part way out the 2 motors can get out of sync and you have to go through a procedure trying to get them synced up again.

A lack of headroom is a problem with every Eagle Cap camper.

Eagle Caps only have 78 or 76 inches. Subtract 2 inches for the AC equals only 6' 2"or 6' 4" anything taller equals ducking or lumps on the noggin.

California King sized beds in campers with low headroom seems such a waste.

Although this tall person has about given up all RV's. Not enough headroom or not enough bed room. Rats!

We have a California King in our home. How many normal sized people even know what a California King is?
( a 6 foot by 7 foot bed)

Kind of funny...nothing on AMLRV site about a 1200 Model...

I've already had that problem on my 2015 EC1160!!! Used about a dozen times by me and next thing I know the slide was going in and out crooked...Only put them part way out maybe twice for bathroom stops....fixed pretty easy by the dealer(since I didnt know the fix) but bad part is it put scratches in my brand new floor at some point. NOT happy.

Hell I have a list of EC problems I'm not happy with at this point!! But thats a story for another day..

Schwintek has some nice videos on operation and maintenance on YouTube. None of which was covered properly by my dealer.

Shouldnt EagleCap cover the warranty cost to repair your floor?

We shall see. Everything has problems I understand that but my personal comfort level has passed. That's why I said it's a story for another day. I want to give them a chance to make everything right before I throw them completely under the bus.

I recommend you read your manuals or view the info on utube on the Schwintek to save yourself some headaches down the road. I know in my manuals it says to run them all the way out or in and don't stop them in between. You are also supposed to hold the switch for a few seconds in either direction to make sure both sides are all the way in or out.

Good luck as you can see by another poster he has had problems with his because of stopping them before the were all the way out or all the way in.

Can someone clarify;
Lippert (Happijac) slides are underneath (floor slide).
Schwintek are on the side (wall)?

Is the Lippert mechanism also to be used only fully extended/contracted?.
Or can it be used partially extended?

Aren't they both the same company now?
