I am skeptical of this truck but your estimate of battery cost seems to presume the need for a 1,400kwh battery. That might be needed to get full advertised range with full advertised towing capacity but I am thinking it is one or the other and the battery is only going to be about 250kwh or about $25,000. I am also very skeptical about finding a charger that can charge a battery of this size in 15 minutes unless they are counting on using the charging network that Tesla is probably going to build for their semi's. I sure don't see these guys building a charger network with their expected volumes. I am skeptical of the 15 minute charge capability too. A company that can build batteries for $100/kwh with a 15 minute recharge time and a decent life would be worth many billions of dollars for just the battery output, why fool around with the trucks? Focus on what you excel at!
That suspiciously sounds like you agree with me and this whole thing is bovine excrement. Refreshing!
As far as the 1,400KW/hr battery. What am I supposed to think? The best made tiny car can't even go 300 miles between charges and this tiny car costs $140,000 dollars. Think about that.
Trucks are a LOT bigger and use a LOT more energy than a little tiny car. A LOT more! That's why an F150 uses a LOT more fuel than lets say a Ford Focus.
At those prices Tesla hasn't made a profit except in 1 qt of their entire existence. (Almost 20 years)
The Model 3 is not tiny, will go over 300 miles with the 72kwh battery and costs $51,000 before tax credits and that is in the premium version since that is all that is offered at this time. It is finding wide acceptance as a BMW replacement. They have only reported 1 qt with profit but the next report is due any day now and is expected to show another profit. You need to up date your info substantially.

My son will gladly attest to the accuracy of Tesla range and the fact that Tesla range guide is far more accurate than Nissan's in the Leaf.
LOL, Aaaaa the link I gave you is for a Model X and it says it costs 140 grand with a range of 289 miles for it's super duper pooper battery.
The reason I compared an X to a pickup is because it's more realistic in size. Sorry, but comparing a model 3 to a pickup is ridiculous. A model 3 IS a tiny car compared to a pickup.
You don't seem to have any idea of the energy consumption of a pickup driving let alone towing.
First you say you are skeptical of this truck then you give links that have nothing to do with how this company is going to make such a truck with such a long range and low price.
My point is, Tesla can't even do it. So how is this company going to do it? Please explain?
