- From what I've read this is the same group that got ram in hot water for the Eco Diesel emissions scandal! As a result ram hasn't been able to sell a ED since December '16 and went from a class action to the Justice Department lawsuit.
In this particular case ram and cummins are busy suing each other like that's going to fix the problem. - ShinerBockExplorer

Digging deeper, the law firm filing this action is known for filing class-action suits against everybody. Most are settled with the plaintiff getting little or nothing and the law firm collecting fat fees. The law firm also was sued in Seattle for misconduct in a case and lost.
Very upstanding people

Yeah, Hagens Bermen LLP is the same ones who sued GM last month and also had cases against VW.

:B - IdaDExplorerI haven't noticed any change in fuel economy after the fix. Granted I don't track it all that close anymore, but I think I'd notice a 25% hit.

It is. That could get what appears to be a frivolous, money grabbing suit dismissed.
It has a higher chance of being dismissed now that AG Sessions stopped the governments practice of funding special interest groups via the penalties of these law suits.
Basically, the EPA would collude with a special interest environmental group to get them and others to sue a company. Then when they win, the DOJ and EPA would order the company to pay most if not all of the fine to the special interest group essentially bank rolling more law suits and more politicians for their cause. - ShinerBockExplorerLol! Yahoo clearly doesn't know how the emissions system works and which part does what with their "explanation". Heck, even the court documents on the TFL link are getting confused on what the DPF does versus what the SCR does. The DPF is for particulate matter and the SCR is for NOx. Fuel does NOT get squirted into the SCR, DEF does.
Also, a 25% drop in fuel economy is like going from the Fuelly.com average of 16 mpg to 12 mpg. That is a significant drop, and I would think I would have heard about it by now in the many other forums I frequent like the Ram and Cummins forums. - romoreExplorer IIIt is. - Oh boy.... Looks like another ram diesel chit storm. Not sure how many dollar signs to place here $$$$$$$$$.
- gmcsmokeExplorerI thought it was just RAM, not dodge RAM.
