If you watched the first minute of the video, you probably would not be amazed about how they could not get the same truck with the same specs because they tell you why.
However, a true specs for specs purely does not exist especially now with 10-speed transmissions in the mix. A trans with more gears(i.e. 10 speed) and a taller rear gear ratio(3.42) is equivalent in terms of torque multiplication as a trans with less gears(6 speed) and a shorter rear gear ratio(4.10) due to the being able to have shorter trans gears with a better spread the more gears you have. - ACZLExplorerDidn't watch the vid, but amazes me that they cannot get the same specs for trucks to do a sxs comparo. - FlatBrokeExplorer IIBoogity, boogity, boogity! Let’s go racing boys!
- rhagfoExplorer IIIWhat is really interesting is that the GM is labeled 2500. but carries a GVWR of 11,300# making it a Class 3 (3500). Then the 10 speed with 3.42 vs 6 speed with 4.10. Keep in mind the total GCW for the Ram DRW will be heaver.
Now we have ford with a F350 SRW with a 10,000# GVWR and a GM 2500 SRW with an 11,300# GVWR, that should really muddy the waters! - ib516Explorer IIInteresting result. They didn't mention that the Ram had a slightly higher GCW based on the truck's configuration, I wonder how that effected things?
