New trailer on a permanent site -slides staying out

When I read all the complaints about slides getting stuck in or out, I made up my mind; since I never intend on hauling this trailer any place and just use it for snowbirding, I am going to leave the slides out.
When we get to it next October, the last thing I'll have to worry about is the slides not going out !

Any one else do this ?

And for the rest of us that pull our rigs and require the slides to work, we need to look at that process in a positive manner. :)
  • My wife & I have been camping on a seasonal site since 1993. We have had 5 trailers (all bought new) in that time. Three of the trailers have had slideouts. We open the slideouts April 1 and close them October 15. So far we haven't had any problems. The unit we have now is a 2014 Wildwood Lodge destination trailer. It has a king size bed with a dresser at the foot of the bed. The bed has a metal frame. In order to close the bedroom slideout the mattress and bed frame has to be stood up against the dresser. So it would be a pain to close the slideouts every time we leave the camper for several days.
