- rockhillmanorExplorernew smell and fragrant? Open a few windows and it will be just fine?
Look up formaldehyde. Toxic when off gassing and continues to be harmful in small confined areas like an RV 'especially' for children. :( - Mr_BigglesExplorerWe bought an Evergreen i-Go in April. There is no off-gassing smells. Both my wife and I have asthma. We have had no issues breathing while inside our i-Go,
- Jimallen77030ExplorerOurs came with the "New" smell, left it open while we were on first trip, took about 10 days to go away. Some of those smells can be bad to.

If you really want a fresh air trailer, go with 2 or 3 roof vents with covers on them. Then you can leave the roof vents open all them time and no rain ever comes in. Lots of fresh air. Safe to leave vents wide open when stored to let the trailer air out.

Our Roo hybrid had a smell to it when we first got it. I opened some windows and ran the fan for a couple of days and the smell went away. Never came back even after being closed up for the winter. When we got our new 2013 Open Range this year it did not have any smell.

Great news!! Somene mentioned in my other thread that there are "green" TTs out there!! I have just done some research, and "goevergreen" is one of them. Also, I was told that "Lance" was another, and I found "skyline."
We called goevergreen and talked with them for quite a while. No odors, they said. Thing is....no dealers in our area have them yet. But, there will be a dealer to start carrying them, only 30 min. from our house!! Yay!! I can't wait to walk into one of them!!
I felt ill after going in and out of all the new TTs when we were out shopping. the odor saturated my hair and clothes and I kept smelling it all night even after returning home!!
Evergreen uses composite materials in their structure and interior finishes. Have walked through a couple of their models at RV show in Tampa. They are indeed less "fragrant", but I would be more excited about the fact there's way less opportunity for wood rot.
Jayco is building California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliant models now. Our 2013 WhiteHawk was festooned with stickers proclaiming that fact. Still an odor inside but nothing like RV's built with formaldehyde containing structural/finish material. We notice the odor when we go out on a trip because the trailer is pretty well closed up in storage, but once the windows are open or the AC is running, it is gone. - MookieKatExplorerI am seeing that all TTs are not created equal, which is great! I don't even like driving a brand new car, because of the odors!
