Newbie Entertainment System Question

Hey, y'all. I have yet another newbie question...

My Cruiser RV R24BHDS has a Cosmo CE3230 TV and a Furrion DV3100 four in one entertainment system. We are enjoying it... But... When playing a DVD sound comes out through all my cabin speakers. I can't switch it to just the TV so that the misses and I could watch a movie in bed after the kiddos have crashed. On the flip side, I can't get the TV to play through the cabin speakers when I'm watching cable or I'm hooked to the antenna. I've tried everything short of pulling the Furrion head unit out of the wall and physically checking everything out.

Anyone familiar with that setup or a similar setup have any advice?

Thanks so much!

  • One solution for both is to get a small FM modulator that powers of the USB port on the TV. This is the one I use:

Search for "Car Kit LCD 3.5mm Handsfree FM Transmitter Modulator USB for iPhone Android" on E-Bay

Then get a small FM receiver with earphones. This one is excellent

Search for "Sangean DT 180" on amazon (or DT-120 which is white

This forum would not let me copy & paste the links.

Set the modulator for 87.5 or 87.7 which your DVD receiver can likely receive but is not used for outside staions. You can play the TV sound through the DVD player that way or use an A/V cable as somebody else suggested. You may have to use somem splitters and adapters at the TV end to get the output sound into the FM Modulator and/or an A/V cable. Your wife can listen to the TV or a DVD using the portable FM receiver.

    Works for me.
  • I'm late to this thread but.... I found that my new CruiserRV with same Cosmo TV and Furrion DV3100 had the red and white audio cables hooked to the audio OUT on the TV. I switched them to audio IN and I've got TV sound. Now turn off A and B speakers on the Furrion and you only get sound to the TV and not wake the others. Hope this helps.
  • I have the similar Cruiser RV 242BDS. Huge Cruiser RV fan.

If you only want TV sound can you just turn off all the speakers?

To get TV through cabin you will need to see if you have a TV audio out and it is connected to one of the inputs on the head unit. Mine was prewired, yours may not be.
  • To get the cable or broadcast TV sound to play out of the stereo speakers, you need to plug a cable into the audio out on your tv, which will usually be 2 rca cables or a 3.5mm headphone jack and then plug the other end into the auxiliary in on your stereo. This will allow your regular TV to play through the speakers. Depending on the TV, you'll either need a RCA to 3.5mm adapter or just a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to go from TV to stereo.

As for not being able to watch movies without sound being through out the cabin, I've always seen A/B/C options for choosing which speakers have the sound. I'm not sure how yours is wired, but if there are bedroom speakers you should have the option to select just that speaker source, but...they like to wire these tings oddly, so....good luck!
  • Yeah, that's what I had to do. Only way to find out what is plugged in where. I do know that of the two Furion systems I've had they won't play a USB larger than 4GB.
  • I hear ya! Tried the books...They are terrible. Time to disassemble! ;-)
  • You know, the way these things are connected today you're probably not gonna' get much help. With all the different TV/stereo/Bluetooth/DVD/composite/VGA/AV/antenna/cable/satellite combinations and connections you're probably just gonna' have to get out the books and play around with it. I doubt any two are alike.

My stereo (Furion) has three speaker control buttons (A,B,C) that control the on/off of the bedroom/living room/outside speakers. I figured out what is what and labeled the buttons.
