Great Summation, fpoole. Wish another post had the same interaction style with their responding posts. Kudos to you!
Since I come from decades of backpacking/tent camping and before that weekend days (never camping) with the family at the lake, sailing. So where am I going with all this? Easy. Simplicity. I am a big believer and practitioner of keeping things simple. The meaning of this is;
The easier it is to use something, the more that you will use it.
My biggest example is that my Mountain Bike is carried on a Front Tire Garage Wall Hook, so the front tire is mounted and ready “to go” and the back tire is in a track scavenged from a Yakima Bike carrier. All this hanging vertically. The only thing holding the bike in place, One (1) shock cord. So if I park and spot a trail or bike path that looks tempting. No problem with grabbing the bike for an unplanned escape. Just unhook the shock cord and lift the bike off. It takes longer to put my Cleated Mnt Bike shoes on that it does to get the bike out.
So, it all sounds great, about the buggy and moving this and loading that, I just wonder if this is going to be a lot of work that you will get tired of sooner than later.
