Thanks B,
I too try to 'KISS' it when I can.
While I tend to do the 3 stages i spoke about earlier, I'm now more aware of that process and toning it down.. a lot, for me anyway.
Like you, a lot of backpacking, hiking, exploring and just the backpacking alone, trying to keep it under a manageable weight taught me about the concept.
With the Tear Drop of 8yrs, I had the routine down to about 15 min or less, depending upon weather... 3 min if just passing through to another location and doing a "Stop & Go", just unlock, unlock, unlock and lift the back, good to go, cooking etc.
While I have a mtn bike I'm still keeping that in the back of the mind, but will be sure it will be a simple unlatch and go.
Setting up the complete Rig if necessary would be simply pull in with trailer, set aside, release the TC "IF?" needed for riding. I'm thinking 75% of time, I won't need to unhook it. If I do, then that will be in the process and the buggys will just roll/power out of the cargo. Then stay that way until packing up.. so not as clean and simple as pulling into a spot and putting out the camp chair, but so far, the Tear Drop routine hasn't grown weary .. heheh, sigh, yet anyway... If it does, I'll adjust as needed.. but the riding is the key.
While I talk about having 2 buggies, I'll probably find that the little ACE will be just fine. I don't need to climb Mt Everest.... if you know what I mean. Just enjoy the ride and surrounding Nature.
Most of my "Camping" will be planned destinations with other like minded riders.. and sadly, I grew up with the mind-set of getting to the destinations.. I too was able to enjoy a lake, Priest Lake, ID and the trip from Pasadena, CA (LA area) was a Balls out, 2 day trip in a 1950 ford at the time.. heheh Flat head, nice ride, i was too young to drive.. or so my parents said.. LOL... but is was not a "Stop and Smell the Roses" which I have trouble trying to break.
Anyway, I'm not looking at it as too much, TC should remain on truck 75% of time so I'm good... it it does come off, it'll be for more than a few days..
It's supposed to be fun, right? heheheh...
Yep, and fun it is...
See ya on the trails...

PS. I seem to post too long, heheh.. I need to KISS it in posting too... sigh..
