You're talking about full-timing in a truck camper.
Which means that you "need" a truck - for what purpose?
Why not just rent a truck if/when it's needed?
Get a class C or small motor home with towing capacity for year round living.
Yes, not clear on what you're getting at, maybe this will help..
I "Need" a truck to carry the AF 990.
I need a flat bed truck to carry, from the campsite, the buggy to a staging site if need be.
Buggy won't fit into a Class C or a Series 3500 truck bed (talking about the XP1k RZR, ACE will) and I don't want to pack up and tow the trailer to the staging area for obvious reasons.
I need the flexibility to "Adapt" to the situation and go "Off Road" if need be. The "Whoops" (dips like soft potholes) in the road can be large/deep to get over even with a 4x4.

and if you're meaning "renting a truck to tow the buggy to a stagging area, rentals will probably not be nearby to make that a practical thing time/energy/$$$ -wise..
Hope that clarifies it..??
I "Need" the Truck...
