The wife’s floor plan picks the trailer, the trailer determines the TV then the finances determine both. It is very easy to get over whelmed by the creature comforts that are available.
We decided to selected the smallest TT we thought we could live with; a 26 footer with slide out at about 5000 lbs. Then we rented a similar unit to test our choice.
The TT size proved to be okay but our TV was underpowered even with the so called “light weight” trailer.
With kids and toys etc. I would lean towards a ¾ ton of even a 1 ton TV. Our E-Boost F-150 serves us well with a 5000 lb. TT but we are retired and do not carry a lot of stuff or toys.
Fortunately you have a while to consider and plan for all the TT options.
