Lots to think about.
There are a lot of different ways to carry batteries. Easiest is to get a nice box from some place like Home Depot and mount it on the tongue. Torklift and Century Plastics also sell a nice one. If you mount AGM's inside, you don't need a box.
FWIW, I carry five batteries inside my trailer, two 6V GC2's in a DIY vented battery box and three smaller AGM's in an enclosed space. I did it that way mostly for weight considerations but security is also about as good as you're going to get.
