No, not at all. Most that would try to convince you use 6 volt batts themselves ... I don't but instead prefer 12 volt. However, since you're suggesting you don't have the room on your Tango's tongue for a pair of 12 volt G31s you might find you do have enough room to fit a pair of 6 volt GC-2s which have the same footprint as a smaller 12 volt G24. A friend of mine is adding a second G24 to his own trailer because his dealer had installed a G24 last year when he bought the trailer as he didn't know any better to instruct the dealer otherwise. In any case, with the two G24s he'll have ~ 150 AH but in your case, because you're starting out with no battery, you'd be better off with two new 6 volt GC-2s which would offer ~ 225 AH - more grunt, same footprint. ;)
