Yeah, I wouldn't be comfortable with a 7" overhang ... maybe you can post a pic of your trailer tongue to help us visualize what you're dealing with. I'm going to be dealing with this shortly myself as I plan to reorganize my own trailer tongue once I get the rig back on Sat from winter storage. I'd prefer to stick with 12 volt batts but could well be forced to dual 6s because of the smaller footprint ... won't know for sure 'til I start measuring and moving stuff around to see what I can come up with. If I end up overhanging by an inch on each side that wouldn't bother me but 7" would.

I've never owned a Crown myself but I hear they're regarded pretty highly. However, the question remains as to which converter you have and whether it can properly recharge & maintain those expensive batteries so you get the life out of them that you expect. :h
