Oh....it's sealed, alright. It's not coming apart, and it won't be getting any moisture, either.
That wiring box is a effing nightmare...I saw no point to install a new 8 ft cable when I had a poorly routed 8' cable with a bad plug.
As far as your "dongle" is concerned.....good idea.....but overkill for what I was trying to accomplish.
