Newbie's Project: 2010 Tango Twist 21ft

I bought a 2010 Pacific Coachworks Tango Twist 21ft.

I bargained well and got it for 10K CAD.

Lightly used...4 times to be exact.....and then parked.

While being advertised for sale....it was vandalized...the battery and box were cut out and the propane tanks absconded with.

No biggy.

In the past 4 days or so, I've made a couple of visits to the RV store and read all the documentation that came with the trailer.

Getting my feet wet. Soaking wet.

Yeah...I wouldn't pressure wash it, even after touching up the sealant. Trailers are made to handle normal rain, wind, etc., but a pressure washer is a much different animal.

I would hand wash and lightly hose off as needed.

Very cool ! Way to go on getting a trailer brought home, and having a little sweat equity in it will be fun since it makes it even more "yours". Lets see some pictures !

How do you post pics on this site?
  • Because the dinette area is a horseshoe...I ended up with a folding table....one that collapses and turns the horseshoe into a bed.

Those tables are so wobbly that I've decided to remove the folding legs and install 2 flush mount table leg bases on the floor with 2 legs attached to the table. Just gotta find the right spot so that there is a comfort level all around the table.
Then I can just pop the legs off and turn it into a bed.

I've got 2 bunk beds in the back....so the table will probably be upright 90% of the time.
  • I did buy new potable water hoses (2 x 25ft) and a 45 psi water pressure regulator.

I also bought a new dump kit....might as well start a dirty job with fresh stuff!

  • So far, from what I've seen through my inspections....I'm not needing much, in general.

The trailer needs a good external pressure wash top to bottom and some sealant touch ups here and there.

The interior needs a good cleaning before I fill it full of my gear.

I want to re-pack the bearings and do the suspension kit: http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/21609645.cfm

Other than that, I have a couple of exterior hold open latches to replace and a compartment lock.

Then it's just the regular start up maintenance....hopefully the water system is still fully functional....still too cold here to start testing / working on it.
  • So far....I've bought 2 propane tanks and had them filled.
I ordered the hold down bracket for a double tank install......the big wing nut was still there for some odd reason.

I bought a new marine battery, as well.
A high performance deep cycle battery....who knew?

It's a group 31 and with the new box just fits in the "V" of the hitch.

Now to figure out how to secure it a little better...at least make it harder for the thieves.

I also had to by some 6G wire and lugs to re-do the wiring at the fuse block to battery.
