The 68RFE is a great transmission and I have not had a single problem with mine. I've never seen any report of anyone having any issues with it when they keep their truck stock. The only times I have seen transmission issues is when people tune and add more power.

That is why I suggested that Ram might have to change transmissions if they plan to bump power much higher with the 6.7 Cummins. It isn't a knock on the transmission at all, just admitting that all things have a limit. Based upon the accounts that I have read, the 68RFE appears to close to its limit for power input.

Quit trolling, why are you even commenting on a Ram thread anyways? You have made it abundantly clear that you would never buy a Ram, so your input isn't relevant to the OP's question.

What are you talking about??? I towed 28-29K combined with my 11 HO Dually with NO issues with over 1/2 of that towing. Pic is at 65K with at least 50K on the fluid.

I tow 33K combined with my 15 RAM Dually with the Aisin trans. True Medium Duty used in many other applications.

Are you talking carrying capacity? Or RAWR? I would assume Carrying. I would also assume F450?

If you have read any of my posts both the 68RFE and AISIN are great trans. Towing in the heavier weight weights and higher HP/TQ ratings the AISIN is preferred.

I installed an aftermarket pan for more fluid capacity and it did keep the trans cooler than other stock temp reports. The AISIN is amazing with the temps in the low to mid 170's towing 33K combined even on 14 percent grades in June thru the Rockies.

AISIN is a true MD trans as it is used by several other manufacturers.

Street talk in the Detroit metroplex is (from my son who works at Chrysler powertrain) the RAM HD's new design will be model year 2020 vehicles and will be in dealer show rooms mid to late 2019. Take it for what it is worth and I wouldn't be surprised to see it change, again.

Reasoning is capital investment RAM has to make to move RAM 1500 production from Warren to Sterling Heights, plus investments in Toledo for Jeep. They just didn't have the resource for the RAM HD plant in Mexico.

I'll take my CTD and CP.3 over fancy front end changes any day.

Started with a 1993 W250 in 1994, then 2001.5 Std Cab, and now the 2015 CC Laramie. Not much I would change or want different on the 2015 except maybe a little tighter turning radius. RAM has hit a home run with its current offering. Here in snowbird country they are everything you look or go.

Got no problem with front grill on my 2015 Ram. What really counts is what is under the hood. CTD!!
