It will be really interesting to see these guys who have all cried "no more HP wars- we want better mileage" switch to a Nissan. :) Let's face it- with the tow ratings of modern 1/2 ton trucks many folks don't need a 3/4 or 1-ton. They bought the bigger trucks anyhow for the diesel- that is about to change big time.
The people who should be most concerned are the guys at Ford- The F150 is their bread and butter- they need a diesel! My guess- in 5 years 90% of new 1/2 ton trucks will be diesels. How else does Detroit meet Cafe standards...? Let's hope Fords first attempt at a 1/2 ton diesel goes better than the 6.0!
