All I can say is that for a young guy like myself that drives to work daily and don't even own a camper anymore I'll be giving this truck a good look if the price is right.
I think the point is as other people have said. If you are retired or manage to have a job where you can take a lot of time off and you want to haul an 8,000lb+ toy hauler / fifth wheel etc then a 2500/3500 series truck is perfect. On the other hand for someone that may pull a 6,000lb trailer to the campground maybe 10 times a year (which is realistic for working couples) having a crew cab pickup truck that gets close to 30mpg is huge. It's going to pull ATV's / boats / trailers just fine for the recreational user. I spend an hour a day driving on a highway going 60mph five + days a week. My 2500HD get's an amazing 13.3mpg, just as a comparison for someone who has 29 years till I can retire.
Now if they do a crewcab 6.5' bed I may have to start saving some pennies and try to convince my wife it's time to swap out to something that makes a little more sense.
