No room for second battery

I've never seen a trailer that doesn't have enough room for two batteries when there is enough for one battery.

Any pictures?

Can you post a picture of the tongue area? Or is oem battery in a compartment?

DO you have enough room behind propane cylinders for a battery box on tongue?

I dont hsve pics. Its in storage. The battery box is located behind the propane tanks but recessed between the frame rails. No room to mount a box or a frame on the rails between the tanks and the front of the trailer. The weight distribution mounts are on the frames and cant be moved forward or the chains won't hang straight up and down. Ill get pics this weekend.

Switch to agm and mount the batteries on their sides, or inside the trailer.

It sounds like some Red neck engineering.
If it works for you and you are happy then it is a great modification.
Where do you carry the batteries on the road? In the bed of the truck?

Most of the time you can remove your recessed battery on the tongue area and mount some angle strips on top of the tongue area and extend out on both sides of the tongue.

This is what I did here with my setup... I can add as many as four batteries across the trailer tongue doing this...

Adding batteries will increase your tongue weight however... Sometimes folks have to move their propane closer to the front tongue jack...

TORKLIFT also carries a line of battery hangers where you can mount the batteries under the trailer as well...

New battery tray welded from angle iron and bolted to the frame rails. Holds 2 G29 batteries.

Viewing a YouTube video of your particular model trailer makes it clear why - the battery rails are mounted to the lower edge of the trailer's A-frame, allowing room for just one battery. Raising that mount would decrease available height because of the slope of the trailer's front wall so that's no solution either. Seems to me you have two alternatives - replace your existing G24 with a higher capacity G31 which will fit on the rails and carry your lighter weight G24 in the back of your truck as a spare OR invest in a pair of AGM batteries in a group size of your choice and mount them in the front pass through storage compartment. If the latter you could then just leave your existing G24 where it is and with a dual circuit Blue Sea battery disconnect switch use whichever source you prefer at any given time. I'll likely do this myself next spring - just leave my existing G27 where it is on the tongue and mount one or two AGMs in the front pass through compartment. No way I'd want to deal with a pair of batteries on a cart, certainly not when there are much easier solutions.

Won't work with the OP's trailer as raising the battery rails would cause the trailer's front wall to interfere with the battery height.
