I wouldn't call it lying so much as protecting proprietary and confidential information. All Ford employees sign a confidentiality agreement, and to reveal proprietary and confidential information could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Needless to say, compromising company secrets is 'frowned-upon' by management for obvious reasons. :)
