Ok - this decision has changed to 3/4 ton or 1 ton?

I'm trying to figure if you are talking about a "truck camper" or a travel trailer camper??? As far as ½t trucks go, pulling a decent sized camper with a "properly equipped" ½t truck is no problem. Mine has 2000# payload and is equipped to tow 10000+# trailers or 11000#+ 5th wheels. It has the torque and brakes to safely do the job. If you are talking a "truck camper", then I agree with the posters that a 1T is the basic requirement, as truck campers start at 2000# and go up to well over 4000#.
