Yep, congrats on being informed! You saved yourself some money and more importantly a ton of aggravation of making the wrong decision and having to deal with it.
As I was buying my most recent vehicle, I was trying to buy a similar one at a big city volume dealer about 2 hours away, and he kept giving me partial numbers and told me not to worry about the final numbers until after I got there.... Needless to say that dealer didn't win my business.
