"IF" the op has not figured it out yet, she will be one or two chassis sizes heavier trying to do what she wants than a couple or family of say 4. With 4 adult sized teens, one can expect to have 800 to 1200 even 1300 lbs of people weight in the rig before adding hitch weight! At least "MY" family of 6 was in the 1200-1300 lb range with clothes, and other assorted goodies that went into the cab with them. Not that ea one had an I phone or equal back in the 90's, still one had a book or two per child, a pair or two of binoculars so they could see things out of the truck etc. Add in my crossbed tool box at 300 lbs or so, a rack with a canoe, on it, two malamutes in crates in the bed. Sometimes a bike or 5 or 6......I was 2500 lbs MORE than the empty wt of my truck, Add in the 700-750 lbs of HW. my 6500 lb diesel crew cab was in the mid 9000 lbs range. typically 5000-5600 lb the rear, and 4300-4500 on the front. That is a single rear wheel rig. Trailer was 26' and around 6500 +- to a low of 6000 to 6700 on the high end axel wt wise.
