Open Range or Primetime RV

We have been looking at the Open Range Journeryer 340flr. Love the floor plan. We have researched the Journeryer and like the way it's is built. We saw this trailer this weekend. Primetime LaCrosse 327res. We don't know anything about Primetime or the LaCrosee units.

Does anyone have any opinions on this unit compaired to the Journeryer?
  • Check out the Open Range forum (openrangowners.com) and see what they say. We have an Open Range 5er and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Best rig we've ever owned. However, I'm seeing a lot of problems with the new Travel Trailers. Could be my imagination.....:)
  • I can't compare the 2 as I have no experience with the Open Range. We purchased a 2016 Lacrosse 328RES in June and are very satisfied with it. We've had it out 3 times for 10 nights and have not had a single problem with it so far.

We ordered our Lacrosse with the optional 50 amp service and dual ducted 15,000 BTU air conditioners. It is my opinion that the Lacrosse 327/328 really needs this second A/C especially if you are camping in the deep south during the summer months.

Again, we are very satisfied with our 328RES and really like the residential refrigerator which is the only difference between the 327RES and 328RES. We still do a lot of looking and have not found a TT that we like any better. If we had to buy another TT today, I'm sure we would buy another 328RES.
  • We have had a LaCrosse 329 for almost a year and are pretty happy with it. Build quality is good, things are fairly well thought out, and we have not had any real problems with ours. There are a few known problems with the LaCrosse lines, uncomfortable mattresses, showers are a little cramped, some have problems with wear on the underside of the kitchen slides (but there is a good warranty fix). If a tornado blew ours away today I would either buy another 329 or one of their Crusader 5th wheels.
  • Have the Lacrosse, don't know anything about the Open Range though. We've had no problems with our trailer, have had it since May 2013 and have made several trips out and about as well as lived in it exclusively for a year. I guess the only bad things I can say about it are 1. the bathroom is a little smallish. 2. the mattress that came with it really is bad and got replaced after a few months when all of the fill 'pooled' in the center from my wife's and my side of the bed. 3. we have the 4 door refrigerator and in the Texas heat without any shade on that side of the trailer you can see the temp gauge go up during the heat of the day. The longest trip so far was about 1600 miles round trip without any problem and is the first time I have noticed no wear on the tires after a long trip. The dual air conditioners and 50 amp service keeps up with the heat nicely.
