Options for black tank flushing?

Try the Flush King. It is a back flush device. It works really well and it is cheap.

End of the season I give mine a good cleaning and not alot of extra comes out. I dump get home add some water and a packet of toilet stuff and so far it has been working good.

I installed the Camco Quickie Flush on both my black tank and grey tank last year. I put a two-way splitter valve so I can hook the hose up to the trailer once and send water to one or both of the tanks simultaneously. I also made sure that gravity can drain the hoses for easy winterizing.



It works great. Real easy. Just hook a hose up to it and flush away till clean water flows from the black tank.

Yes and probably contaminating every campground water supply that you hooked up to with a hose connected to a poop tank. In most states it is now code to have one on every outside faucet. So this doesn't happen.

I like to think that when I left, that I didn't harm anyone or contaminated the water supply that I was hooked up to.

I have been doing this for more that 25 years.Using the same method.

Why do you feel the need for such a device ? Many of us have been RVing for twenty or thirty years with out one !

I am a bit "anal" about this too.I know that my Quickie Flush has check valve in it BUT I would never hook my designated wash out hose to it with out one of THESE on the end of the hose.

That way there is no way that anything will get contaminated.

One extra thing you might do to help.....on a weekend or extended weekend when we know the black tank is not full, I'm especially generous with clean-up water and add a large amount to the black tank. Many folks don't dump after just a short trip, but DH is one to dump every trip. This additional water helps to not only dilute, but between the site and the dump station gets a bit of sloshing time. The clear connector is a huge help, even with the Tornado. If you know for sure that there's more in the tank than comes out, DH closes the black tank lever and lets it fill as well as cleaning the sides. Usually we get a surprise when we dump the second time. Before anyone fusses for taking so long at the dump station, we never do this if someone is waiting...just dump and go. Be sure to add a generous (3 - 5 gallons) amount of water and fresh chemicals as soon as you're done dumping. Any solids will be concrete if you let it be.

You then connect your poop tank to a drinking water supply and expect there not to be any contamination. Meanwhile, go to any Walmart or hotel and take a look at the massive multi-thousand dollar backflow preventer between the sprinkler system and the public water supply that also must be tested every so often. And this is to keep stagnant, rusty water from contaminating the public water supply, not poop water.

Sounds like they each have their own purpose and function as intended. I like the idea of the quickie flush and need a clear elbow any way so I'll be ordering both.
