Towing capacity will never be reached before maxing out on payload. Payload is different depending on options. So it's not about what you can pull - its more about what you can carry.
I typically remove my sway bar before backing. Loosening it may be OK too, but if you don't do either of these, there is a chance of snapping the connector off - looks like a little hitch ball mounted on the top of your WDH. The WDH does make a lot of noise - something you get used to.
