Many of us have made the wrong decision when it came to trailers and tow vehicles. It is easy to believe the; "The guy on the Internet tows 10,000 pounds with his Tundra", "The salesman said I would be good to go", "The commercial said they can tow 11,000 pounds", etc. etc.
Ten dollars and a visit to the scales will provide more useful information than the three sources mentioned. Don't think that a set of tires and a brake controller are going to turn any pickup into a towing beast.
