Over loaded pickup

Around here most of the quarries will not load any pickup bed.
The loader operators are in a hurry to get trucks loaded. To see the pickup you need the bucket pretty high, and gravel falling that far can do some damage. (I had to sign a release before they would load the 10 ft bed on my F-5.)

BULLSNOT! The way it is loaded now, most of the weight of the boards is hanging in back of the rear axle. If it was loaded with them on top of the stack, and hanging over the cab, part of that weight would be carried on the front axle instead of levering weight off that axle and adding to rear.

Sorry not going make any real difference, the Sheetrock and OSB have that truck on the bump stops already. Placing the dimensional lumber on top centered on the load won't change that.

I don't care how you re-position the weight, that truck is waaay overloaded. I can't imagine getting any real steer or braking response from the front. This guy could have just had all that delivered for next to nothing.

I'm not there, but I think the tall part of that stack is Styrofoam sheets.

I missed the part about stacking long boards on top moving over cab.

14 sheets of 5/8" is 1,036# vs 1/2" 798#.

3/4" OSB subfloor around 46 @ 61# = 2,806#.

Removing around 550# of dimensional lumber and placing it from the cab forward is NOT going to make a hill of beans.

Nope, not a f&)*^^&ing thing!

There's easily 6000+ lbs in the back of that truck. You could load it dead center and it would just flatten both front and rear suspension!

Edit, I stand corrected. Other than scooby is still clueless. Shows even "professional" truck drivers don't all know how to load or what stuff weighs.

If the top stack is foam then that truck has 3000+lbs in it.

Hey I’ve been on since 2007. I have never been accused of being a troll. The description is of an actual event. I was trying to point out overloading can have other consequences. And I’ve never heard of what happened to this Toyota happen to any truck, including Toyota’s. And I don’t hold the happening against Toyota.

I would never call anyone on here dumb. I did have a 2500 suburban wreck a front differential. But GM said it was defective and eventually replaced it for free.

Ohh btw the Toyota dealership was who told me I was in danger of locking up while driving. Also they had never seen this failure.

COMPLETELY disagree. The load is as far forward as possible of all items. Nothing is going to change the front to back load. Lowering the drywall "may" make it less top heavy.

How in the world can you say "load is as far forward as possible"? Clearly the boards a sticking out 2-4 feet out the back of the truck. Sheetrock is even with back, so it is 8 ft bed. If the lumber was on top of the 'foam then it could be loaded so the front 4 feet was over the cab. That would move much of the weight to front axle.

That is insanely overloaded and completely unsafe. I bet the steering is VERY loose as the front tires have been unloaded most likely.

But hey some "E" tires and bags = "Good To Go".

I don't know how much weight is on that truck, but I bet over half the weight is sheetrock. Twice that stack of sheetrock would not raise a eyebrow on a 3/4 ton truck.
BTW, I was loading trucks for a landscape material place when somebody came in with 1 of Home Depot's rental trucks. Do you know if you get just over a ton on 1 of them the horn starts to honk?

Yup, agree, bags would help a bunch! As to overloaded, until we know what the yellow tire loading sticker on the door jam states XXXX, who can say??
