overhead storage in bedroom

We have wicker basket style baskets, except instead of woven "wicker", ours has woven cloth. I put things like underwear, socks, T-shirts, etc. in them.

Ours is also an open shelf in that space, probably about the same size as the OP specifies, and we use those soft fabric collapsible cube boxes you can get at Target and Walmart. We keep folded clothes and towels in them. Six of them fit very nicely across the whole shelf. Neither the cubes themselves or any of the stuff we have in them has ever moved around during travel. They work out very well. We have a "nightstand" on each side of the bed, so we each have an additional cube there for miscellaneous stuff. (And the cubes themselves fold down nicely in the camping bins for winter storage in the house.)

X2, along with a few snack items when watching tv, like beef jerky, slim jims, canned nuts, etc. Oh, and the box of hollow points with left over rounds not loaded in my pistol magazines.

Just shows you how different we all are ;) ... that under bed storage area is for us the most inconvenient storage space in the entire trailer and therefore the least used even though I even added cabinet doors to the end of the bed platform so I wouldn't have to struggle with lifting the bed platform & mattress. The most I keep in there these days are a couple of empty grey water containers and a laundry basket.

I have a 25 ft Dutchmen, the compartments above the bed have my pants, sweat shirts, T shirts and flannel shirts stack neatly on top of one another on my side. The other side has my wife's clothes also neatly stacked. There is only so much room available.

I use soft packing cubes for many things. Can color coordinate for each family member or type of items, etc. They keep everything neat and tidy and "scrunch" to fit. I even use one as a "junk drawer" keeping all those miscellaneous items in one place and easily accessible.

We have an open shelf above the bed and found 4 leather boxes at Lowe’s that fit perfectly in the space. We keep paper goods, bird guides, games, etc. in them.

We use plastic straight-sided baskets we bought at WalMart. We store folded clothing like under wear, socks, and tees in them. We pull out the whole basket to get what we need and then return it to the shelf. I think everything would turn into a messy jumble and access would be much more difficutl without using baskets.
