We reported on OX Flagstaff this year for Truck Camper Magazine click
Truck camper owners arranged to have a special space for the TCs presided over by Brian BKA. We had a great time visiting with all the TC folk, and spending some intense time with the events....millions of events....almost too many. There were a number of TCs that paid for the day pass and a small fee for dry camping, and they were happy as clams.
I suggest that you get in touch with Roseann Hanson, the organizer of OX, and see if you can get a special TC area. I think she would be very interested. You could also PM Brian BKA here on RV.net
Make no mistake, this thing is HUGE in Flagstaff...the premiere event in North America. Asheville may come close.
I remember reading your well written article and thank you for that, also for the info on the organizer. Maybe if we keep this thread going there will be enough interest for a gathering.
One interesting obstacle is the 12' height limitation due to the tree canopy. Most TC's will be ok but what about those Unimogs and such? - 67avionExplorer IIWe reported on OX Flagstaff this year for Truck Camper Magazine click

I'm thinking about taking both adventure vehicles.. - HandbasketExplorerYep, Taylor Ranch is a big (for the East) old farm, now a commercial for-profit event center. Folks rent their facilities for big weddings, corporate events like picnics, etc. It's a flat-out lovely spot in a scenic valley, and easily accessed from I-26 or I-40. I used to drive past the main gate daily on the way to work back in the 80's, and owned land on the ridge above there in the 90's.
Nope, it ain't gonna come cheap. I have the impression that the admission price includes up to four nights of dry camping, Thursday thru Sunday, but someone who knows can correct that if needed. I expect that the Sunday Bar-BQ banquet will be first-rate.
This being Asheville, I hope they've thought of having some of the city's food trucks available out there for other meals. Some of them are quite good, others so-so.
I'm not a TC'er, but I plan to be there.

I am bummed b/c we can only afford one trip down and I wanted to see Chong and Barry again at Smoky Bear CG for the TN TC Rally in Nov :( But I have been dying to see Overland Expo and who knows if this east coast one will happen again next year. I'd kick myself for missing it.
Sorry you can't make the gathering in NOV but completely understand. I'll consider setting another up next year if this one goes well so you may have a second chance. It's close enough for me that I may be able to do both so may see you there. - silversandExplorer....day passes are $20 pp/p day. There are certain access to activities that day passes don't include...
My guess is that here in the East, large "event space" cannot be had for free or token fee (like BLM land out West), and is quite costly (like the special event ranch being rented for this event), and bundled with the event activities, the price thus reflects...etc.
We're already booked at a private spot (booked 1.5 months ago), and have only a 15 minute drive to "The Ranch". We're only scooting through on a very tight schedule, thus will be attending only 1 day (literally 6 hours), and will have to shoot straight back up to the Norfolk area, then be back "home" the day after that.
Should be an intense, but fun 6 hours for us.

I sure am interested in it and would love to stay on site, but $490 for the two of us is a bit high. Anybody know what the day pass is expected to cost?
If you check on-line, I found a 3-day pass for 60 bucks, I think it was an early bird special. That was for the OX in AZ though.
It seems the day passes don't start selling until a few weeks before the event, so keep checking the OX site.
In AZ there was on-site boondock camping for 10 bucks a night.
