parts for awnings?

I have a motorized awning and its seems like the dampening spring are sticking. I would like to replace but have not found a great place to get parts other than dealer. Anyone have any help here? Awning shutters when opening or closing. This is a 17' on Keystone Passport.

    Hmm, got to check out what brand it is. Can't open it right now because where the TT is parked there is a tree in the way. But looking on Carefree site i did not see anything similar. Mine does not have the big motor cap at the end. Definitely looks like a Dometic

    Call a local Mobile RV repair. They see so many of these it might not even need a part and he'll know what it is right away.

    I had Mobile RV repair replace my awning and he did it in what seems like minutes. They do A LOT of awning repair. Just saying.

    I recently had one of the gas shocks on my Carefree Of Colorado awning lock up totally. It actually bent. I was lucky the mounting rails on the side of the 5th wheel did not get messed up. Anyway, if your awning is a C.O.C., you can order directly from them. I had to get mine from Camping World because of where I was located at the time, but they are cheaper straight from C.O.C.

    BTW, I was able to do the replacement myself, but it was a bear of a job.
